Pita

Pita Taufatofua, an Olympic star in taekwondo, wanted his country of Tonga to be represented in the winter Olympics. He embarked on a yearlong journey to teach himself how to cross-country ski and go to the Olympics. Taking inspiration from the traditional tapa skirts of Tonga and the Polynesian tattoos this editorial showcases his country being embraced by the winter Olympics through Pita’s effort.
